FAMILY: Born to Ralph A. (1902-1987) and Kate Vanacoree Fisco (1902-1980). The second born of seven children. Siblings are Marshall (1923-2012), Ralph (1926-2018), Alfred (1928-2022), Ann Fisco Borrelli (1930-2011), Irene Fisco Leonard (1932-2018), Marian Fisco Brandolini (1936-), and Patricia Fisco Masi (1946-). Worked for Adam Scherb Co., a tugboat company in New Haven, before joining the Marine Corps. 1, 2, 4
OTHER: Benny Amarone and Frank Fisco lived on the same street in New Haven – 191 Greene Street and 165 Greene Street, respectively. They ended up in the same unit, the 31st Replacement Draft of the 5th Marine Division. They died 11 days apart.
CIRCUMSTANCES: Boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina. In July 1944, he was assigned to the 2nd Guard Company, Marine Barracks, Naval Air Station, Quonset Point, Rhode Island. In October 1944 was assigned to the 8th Training Battalion, Infantry Training Regiment at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Assigned to the 31st Replacement Draft from October 1944 through early 1945. 6 Died from a gunshot wound to the head. 5
