FAMILY: Born to William J. (1954-) and Ling A. Chin Noonan (1954-). Two brothers, Ariel A. (1982-) and Adlai O. (1986-). One sister, Sheminith K. (1987-). Two stepbrothers, Patrick Jacques (1984-) and Paul Jacques (1986-).

DECORATIONS: Awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with two devices, Global War On Terrorism (Service) Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Rifle Marksman Badge, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.

CIRCUMSTANCES: Private First Class Noonan died September 24 in Fallujah, Iraq, of injuries sustained September 23 when a fellow soldier shot him to death. Also killed in the incident:

Army Specialist John Carillo Jr.; Stockton, California

A tree planted was planted in his honor off of Cottrell Parade Field on Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Memorialized with a bench in Veterans Memorial Park, 570 Nova Scotia Hill Road, Watertown, Connecticut.

WEBMASTER NOTE ABOUT THE FOOTSTONE: U.S. combat operations ended in Iraq on September 1, 2010. American troops remained in the country to advise Iraqi security forces as part of Operation NEW DAWN until the final withdrawal on December 15, 2011.
