CIRCUMSTANCES: Died in Lewis Hospital, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. The cause of death was right heart failure accelerated by an anesthetic and bronchial pneumonia. The symptoms were caused by injuries sustained aboard an unknown ship, possibly the S.S. John W. Powell.


Buried in Cambridge American Cemetery, Madingley Rd, Cambridge CB23 7PH, United Kingdom; Section F, Plot 4, Grave 54.
