Marian Jackson of 29 Gilbert Avenue and Christine Antiuk of 410 Duncaster Road will leave Monday for Fort Devens, Massachusetts, for service in the WAAC.

Marian S. Gill, 67, widow of Charles O. Gill, died Monday, November 5, at a local convalescent home. Born in Hartford, she lived in the Hartford area most of her life. She retired after nearly 35 years of service with the IRS as a tax examiner. Mrs. Gill was a member of Metropolitan AME Zion Church, where she served on the Carrie P. Wilson Missionary Society. She was a veteran of World War II and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW No. 9992. She was a past commandress of Makalia Temple No. 137, Daughters of Isis, a charter member of the Past Commandress Council, a member of Stella Chapter No. 16 Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rife of Free Masonry Order of the Golden Circle, a member of the Gideon Wells Senior Citizens Association, the Remembrance Club, and was appointed by Senator Dodd to the Military Selection Board. She leaves to mourn her passing: one daughter, Mrs. Gloria Hodgson-Brooks of Hartford; two nephews; four nieces; many other relatives; and a host of friends. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Metropolitan AME Zion Church. Interment in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glastonbury Visiting Nurses Association. James Funeral Home, 2016 Main St., Hartford, has charge of arrangements.


Private Gill is buried in Green Cemetery, 99 Hubbard Street, Glastonbury, Connecticut; Section 9, Row 24, Plot 439, Lot 7.
